The Risk of Choosing to Pause

We can talk all day about how much we hold self esteem, but only when we take actions that display self-worth does it really solidify as actual value.

It’s natural that the associated guilt coming up for me was deeply discombobulating. That’s going to happen every time I practice this type of self-care until it becomes normalized in my system.

My friend pointed out that baseball players during practice will have balls thrown at them on purpose. This helps them get less scared of getting hit by the ball.

We have to get in the line of the ball to get hit with a discomfort of choosing what we know is right for us enough times until we’re not scared of it anymore.

What are your 5 Core Values?

Sometimes I run around doing a million tasks, few of which serve my highest purpose.

How we spend our time reflects what we place value on.

This can be seasonal.

In the summer, my values for community and nature are going to stampede my higher purpose of writing my book, which fits under my values of education and legacy.

Today, sit with the list of values below . . .

Embrace Easy Self-Care this Month

Whenever someone would set a boundary or ask for a need around my dearly departed friend Ali Mitchell, he’d respond,”Self Care is Sexy!”.

It was his simple act of defiance against the programming that say our needs make us needy.

I’m no astrologer, but with Mercury going retrograde during the last chunk of Venus Retrograde while we switch into Virgo, it’s clear we will want to be extra kind to ourselves for the rest of the month.

Self-Care is Sexy

“What desire do you have to ask for a need that you’re shy about?”

A lot of us struggle to ask for what we want. And yet, it’s sometimes the only way to get it . . . or find out that other’s cannot provide it.

Were you raised with the idea that focusing on your needs is selfish? How can you break free of that untrue belief?

Consider how grateful you are when a loved one sweetly requests what they would like to receive. It’s so much easier than guessing.

We may even be honored to know that we are able to provide for someone. (Or, of course we can happily say ‘No’ if that’s outside our own desires).

This week, take a leap and ask for what you want.

Art Fills My Cup

The free reading this week below offers some powerful major arcana insights into how to heal your Page of Cups heart.

It’s a lot to manage the pentacles of this life, and I had an epiphany during isolation about how essential creative experience is to me.

Flairs of feelings deserve my attention.
Art films enrich my TV time.
Nature enhances my exercise routines.
Self-expression balances my spirit.

I personally need to prioritize my Cups more to find a work-life balance.

A Tarot Activity for Winter Focus

It’s easy to let winter be a droll time, and this year is extra hard with covid risks keeping us at more of a distance from seasonal house gatherings. This is that essential moment to remember what we may romanticize about winter in the middle of a busy summer.

Your Mind is Psychic

Have you ever known something without knowing how you knew it?
When was the last time you felt an urge to call someone, and there were in need of your presence? We can choose to mystify these magical edges of life, or we can acknowledge our desire to normalize how often they occur.

Cleanse Your Deck and Yourself

You are sovereign ruler over your aura or spiritual body, and giving it attention supports the physical and mental immensely. If you read cards casually or professionally, caring for yourself as a channel includes clearing the tendrils that attach to your oracle and tarot decks.

Healthy Cord Cutting

When we connect deeply with someone, we become tethered energetically. Even after we physically part, there are still tendrils of their imprint entwined with our own.

Time to Bloom Once Again

Time to Bloom Once Again

Sometimes blossoming can be intimidating.

This rounding of the sun in particular, we are not only shedding away our winter coats, we are shifting collectively back into the bright world of socializing and getting back to being busy.

As more of us get vaccinated, events will surge. While this is thrilling, it also is a good moment to consider your own rhythms and comforts as we all become more extroverted again.

If you want to get warmed up to socializing with others while you learn the cards from a pro, we would love your company.
