Or come in person and get your bag of charms before class!

The Choice to Stay Connected

I do my best to keep this blog as neutral and lighthearted as possible. Today I feel called to share a personal challenge that I think a lot of you can relate to.

The next edition will return to the usual programming of a free reading for Beltane, so I hope you’ll stay on board.

This week, I joined my parents and their friends in a celebration of my parents 50th anniversary.

With the current political climate and our differences, I was anxious about interfacing with their community. I know many of you can relate, regardless of which side you are on.

Choose Your Energetic Focus

In this information overload era, the world is pulling us into constant distractions in a way that can feel scattered.

Today, let’s take a moment to consider what it means to realign with focus in order to choose where we send our energy.

Allowing the chaos of the world to dissolve away and have a singular attention, even for only a few hours, can help us feel more centered in other areas of life. It helps rewrite the neural pathways in our mind to remain more centered in our daily lives.

Consider when you are the most able to remain totally present with the task in front of you. What does it feel like?

Self Care is Community Care

Even in this individualistic Western culture, many of us were taught to put others ahead of ourselves.

At first, this switch felt selfish to me.

Then, I witnessed my loving friends drain their vivacity in over-giving.

I saw how people came to rely on them and slowed their own self-reliance.

I saw the givers become resentful and sometimes shut off the support completely.

The tarot has a lot of cards about balance, and this is an area that often is skewed for many of us.

It’s essential that you show up for others, yes. It’s also imperative that you offer what feels sustainable so there’s energy left over for your own growth.

April’s Magical Opportunities & Free Tarot Reading

Free Reading Inside!

This month has lots of fun opportunities to learn!

My friend and colleague Sasa is running a free online retreat that starts this Monday. I will be speaking at it about the truths and misunderstandings around being psychic and how we are all psychic.

On April 13th, psychic medium Anna Alexander will lead a lesson online and in-person on How to Communicate with Your Spirit Guides.

After a long hiatus, I am leading my online class in the Art of Tarot Reading on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 7:30pm PST starting on April 29th through May 15th. This will likely not be running again for a long time! Hope you can join for this round!

Unseen Community Connects Us All

I appreciate the family across the street who welcomed home a baby daughter the same week I moved in. As she grew up, I knew that was how long I had lived in my house. We’re not close, but I know we watch out for each other.

Sometimes it’s important to think about the people outside our first circle who do care about us. They may not be our best friends or our blood relatives, but they are our community.

Then there are those we form a sense of family with, even if each person is not a part of our core support.

This weekend I’m going to the coast with my costume troupe. The regular members know my ups and downs, my worst and best parts. They are my chosen family of weirdos who dress up in odd outfits together. (See photo) The new guest artists get to see me in that authentic self, even if they don’t know me yet.

Then there’s this unseen community that I have learned about through being a tarot reader.

At the start of every reading, I call in our guardians, guides, angels, and ancestors…

Triple Goddess Symbol Revealed

One of my favorite people and deck creator of the Disassembled Tarot, Jennifer Steidley, invited me to have a chat with her on an instagram live this week about the Triple Goddess symbol.

Here are some highlights to consider the next time you see this symbol on a shirt, a tattoo, jewelry, or hanging from the wall of a New Age shop.

The triple goddess symbol represents the three phases of life through the feminine divine. Maiden is the waxing moon, Mother is the full moon, and Crone is the waning moon.

I prefer to call this Maiden, Mother, Matriarch, because alliteration is pretty and I don’t know many women who want to be called a crone these days.

Free Reading for March: Power Up During Venus Retrograde

This month’s reading is intense, but ends well with the Chariot.

The good news is that you can find structure and balance in your own life with some prime choices…

Interroception: Listen to Your Authentic Truth

I recently learned the word Interroception as “the ability to sense and perceive your body’s internal state, including your heart rate, temperature, and emotions”.

If you’ve ever had a reading with me, you know that we always begin and end with a short body scan meditation.

During the opener, I am tuning inward and welcoming information within myself to tell me how you are doing energetically and emotionally. I am also opening a sacred space for the reading that I close at the end when I clear myself.

I naturally love that this word sounds like In-Tarot-ception, because I find that this is what a good reader offers. If I can tune into how you are doing, then I can help you better access the subtle nuance of your own internal state.

Free Reading February

This month, we start with the mental discomfort of Swords and land in the solidity of Earth and systems. That is progress forward, albeit right now it might feel hard to grasp.
