So much about Tarot is misunderstood. It is up to those of us who love it to demonstrate the truths of it. If you know someone who has the wrong idea around what Tarot is about, please share my most recent YouTube on What to Expect from a Tarot Reading with them.

According to this belief system, if nothing really matters, why not relish what you relish without a care for how others judge you. Absurdity celebrates each of us living for what we personally adore, however outlandish, and without regard for how we are looked upon by others.

Did you know that modern playing cards derive from the Tarot deck? Yup. Hearts are Cups, Spades are Swords, Clubs are Wands, and Diamonds are Pentacles. Take out the Major Arcana and the Pages, and . . . voila . . . we can play gin rummy instead of divining the future.

It’s become the most infamous of astrological events, the dreaded Mercury Retrograde. (Dun dun dunnnn) The thing is, it doesn’t have to be a burden if you look a bit closer into how to manage it.

Tarot is at it’s best when we are in a liminal space between phases of our life. Luckily for readers, these are super common.

It is our inherent nature to be involved with other humans. Our desire for this runs so deep that we will often choose it at some cost or compromise. It can pay off enormously with support and connection, but even then it’s rarely all easy sailing. My tarot readings treat our companions with compassionate curiosity and a lot of humor. This week, I offer a lesson around the archetypes in relevant relationship cards and a reading for those looking for love.

We can see the archetypes that play out through all of history, and our roles we can choose to play to be fully engaged in our own lives and communities. The tarot adds curiosity to my days that lightens my fears and emboldens my choices.

We engage with our own lives through story making. You go through a break up, and you begin piecing together your experience in words that create scenes that define each person into a role they played. For how often we do this in our lives, it’s amazing we don’t talk more openly about the pitfalls and power of this act.
