Witness Yourself Through the Ages

This week, my best friend since I was 8 years old is visiting.

It’s a unique reflection to have someone close who has known you through so many phases of life.

I’m extra lucky that Sheri is a compassionate and kind witness, since other people I have known for years do not always offer such grace.

Take a moment to consider seeing yourself from who you were in your youth to who you have become.

The Risk of Choosing to Pause

We can talk all day about how much we hold self esteem, but only when we take actions that display self-worth does it really solidify as actual value.

It’s natural that the associated guilt coming up for me was deeply discombobulating. That’s going to happen every time I practice this type of self-care until it becomes normalized in my system.

My friend pointed out that baseball players during practice will have balls thrown at them on purpose. This helps them get less scared of getting hit by the ball.

We have to get in the line of the ball to get hit with a discomfort of choosing what we know is right for us enough times until we’re not scared of it anymore.

Body Positivity Practices

It took me a long time to love my body.

We all know the reasons for this. Society has weird standards that our parents and friends sadly buy into.

Even if we do fit the “ideals”, most of us experience an aversion to the design of our corporeal earth suit in some way.

Today, I want to celebrate your shape and mine, and share some of the ways that I embraced my own short and bootyful bounty.

Tips to Value Your Attention More

I value your attention and am grateful to each of you who read these newsletters. I try to put thought and care into each of them to show my own regard for your presence here.

In this fascinating era we are existing in, our focus is being pulled so many directions. It’s a challenge to lead a simple life. Even as I write this email, distractions pull me sideways.

Today, my wish is to inspire us all to simply engage more fully with our attention setting.

Trials Bring Us Closer

The stories we tell have a profound effect on our expectations of ourselves and others.

When we actually observe the people around us, instead of what the media shines it’s light on, we might find that people are generally better than we presume.

Today, consider a moment where crisis struck and you saw people show up. Hold that in your heart. Notice where your fears are being fed fiction.

One of the reasons I love my work is that it lets me show up with total presence for people and shine a light on benefits and positive potentials for their future.

What are your 5 Core Values?

Sometimes I run around doing a million tasks, few of which serve my highest purpose.

How we spend our time reflects what we place value on.

This can be seasonal.

In the summer, my values for community and nature are going to stampede my higher purpose of writing my book, which fits under my values of education and legacy.

Today, sit with the list of values below . . .

My Favorite Life Organizing Apps

This Mercury Retrograde in Virgo is a great time to bring order into your life and your closets that are feeling unkempt.

I have tested countless apps for to-do lists and these are the ones I have found the most helpful.
I would love to help you organize your experience of managing your life in another way when you sign up for a tarot reading today.

Embrace Easy Self-Care this Month

Whenever someone would set a boundary or ask for a need around my dearly departed friend Ali Mitchell, he’d respond,”Self Care is Sexy!”.

It was his simple act of defiance against the programming that say our needs make us needy.

I’m no astrologer, but with Mercury going retrograde during the last chunk of Venus Retrograde while we switch into Virgo, it’s clear we will want to be extra kind to ourselves for the rest of the month.

Ease Tensions with Talk strategies

I don’t know about you, but I sure am having a lot of relevant breakthrough conversations this week.

In our monthly theme of Venus Retrograde, it seems that conflicts of old are coming to the surface all around.

Luckily, I have spent lots of dollars couple’s therapy sessions which have offered me key strategies to engage in uncomfortable topics with people I care about.

Creating Real Connection is Messy

Since Venus Retrograde began, we’ve looked at Dating and Family.

Today, I want to talk about Community.

How do we create more connection between us?

How do we turn acquaintances into close friends?

How do we become comfortable with the uncomfortable that this can involve?
