Pause for a Fresh Perspective
The Hanged Man is a card of wise inaction and surrender.
It’s about taking a step back to gain perspective on a situation. Maybe meditate or take a nap.
Breathe through the anxiety to get to a place where you can consider other angles.
Some historical interpretations align this card with Odin (Thor and Loki’s poppa) who hung himself from the Yggdrasil Tree at the center of he Universe, wounded by his own spear, to sacrifice himself unto himself.

Lately, I have been thinking about the balance between striving to do things well, and suffering with the critical monster of perfection.
A lot of us are taught to do our best and aim for the top. There are positive attributes to this, but the side effects can be dire.
Many of us are so hard on ourselves when we fall short that we decimate the joy of our accomplishments.
