Choose Art: A Yule Gift

Storytelling is one of the most human art forms. Perhaps animals do it as well, but we are not able to access that information (yet). So it seems quite our thing.

For me, tarot reading is a form of storytelling, and my passion for it’s archetypes and the hero’s journey relates directly to my first love of movies.

Delay Your Resolutions

New Year’s resolutions are an irksome topic for some people. If you’re one of them, know that this is a great year to not make them on time.

We will cross over into 2024 during one of our bouts of Mercury retrograde, and so it’s best to just keep eating the cake and skipping the gym for a spell.

Give and Receive Well

December is the month of charity from so many directions.

The holidays are about gifts and supporting those with less than us.

The tax season ending means we might benefit from donating to good causes.

And the weather reminds us of those without shelter or food who we wish to support.

Yet, with so much good intention, a lot of us come to begrudge the pressure of the season.

That’s where the wisdom of the 6 of Pentacles comes in.

The Power of Words: 3 Oracle Decks

I am so giddy to share with you three super unique word decks that are currently available on a great offer in an Indiegogo campaign from Theresa Pridemore.

Theresa thinks outside the box and then compiles her thoughts into magick creations that she then puts inside very small, yet potent boxes.

Her first deck series is called the Sovereign Oracle, which follows a more classic style of word divination decks.

These three new decks head in a bold new direction.

Mindful Shopping Tips

While naturally I am going to give you an offer in this email, I thought maybe we can all enjoy a moment of pulling away from the panic to make our best choices on our purchases.

Shopping is fun, and can amp us up. This state of urgency is not where you want to spend money from. But that’s the game, isn’t it?

Here’s some tips on how to to have fun and step into your own power in the hustle this weekend.

A Simple Yet Effective Practice

Most of the 78 cards in the Waite-Smith Tarot deck have multilayered meanings.
The act of reading is to mingle the various concepts in a spread and discern what overarching message is formed in that scenery.

Then there is the 9 of Cups, with one pure essence behind it:
Enjoy and be grateful. Savor, relish, appreciate.

Saturn Direct Offers Potential Progress

Last week was all about letting go with the Lunar Eclipse marking the end of a two-year cycle.

This upcoming phase is about assessment of what you’ve learned since June, when Saturn went retrograde, and integrating that new awareness into fresh energy in your goals as it goes direct this Saturday.

If you felt like certain areas of progress were sluggish over summer, you can sigh relief that things should get easier in those areas that stifled.

Free Reading Samhain Eclipse

This weekend marks the final lunar eclipse in a two year cycle related to Taurus and Scorpio.

The full moon is a time of letting go rather than manifesting, and the eclipse amplifies this energy.

As this event aligns with Samhain / Halloween / Day of the Dead, we can include a release of those shadows that do not serve us anymore.

Movies as a Tool for Transformation

Cinema is my first true love.

I was that kid in class who always had a movie reference for any topic.

I even procured a film degree and worked in the industry in NYC for three years. I found it was not so easy to find a creative role, which tarot offers me in, well, spades (and cups and wands and pentacles).

Both tarot and movies shine a light on collective unconscious archetypes in similar ways, and we can use both as a tool for self-awareness and growth.

What Insights did You gain this week?

At the Ashram in India over a decade ago, I was very frustrated with my Swami.

I wanted him to give me the answers and free me from my feelings of being lost.

He wouldn’t fess up. He just kept telling me that I had to find those answers within myself. Very annoying of him.

Each of us seek external support for our guidance.

We ask friends and family for their perspective, we go to coaches and consultants and teachers.

These are all great support systems that I celebrate you resourcing.

The catch is that these networks all function much better when you are also checking in regularly with your own inner guru.
