Navigate to your best life

I do my best to keep this blog as neutral and lighthearted as possible. Today I feel called to share a personal challenge that I think a lot of you can relate to.
The next edition will return to the usual programming of a free reading for Beltane, so I hope you’ll stay on board.
This week, I joined my parents and their friends in a celebration of my parents 50th anniversary.
With the current political climate and our differences, I was anxious about interfacing with their community. I know many of you can relate, regardless of which side you are on.
My concern was reasonable, as one of the most conservative women and I got into a loud debate on the first day.
A more mellow man inquired about my views with curiosity and a less aggressive style. The difference of approach was palpable and helped me feel heard.
These are intense times for divergent political opinions.
Many of my friends and family have disconnected from people on the other side from them. It’s not easy, and I believe each of us needs to make our own best choice.
I’ve had to take breaks from one of my oldest friends when I couldn’t hold boundaries around expressing my frustrations as the anger was too much.
Despite the challenges, I am currently choosing to stay in connection. I know that I will falter by ranting on occasion, and I will have times that I need to take space.
I pulled cards on this matter, and the reading struck a chord for me.
The Hanged Man card of acceptance of things we cannot change and sacrificing for our spiritual self.
The World card, a reminder that we are connected to all of humanity and our actions interrelate with others.
Finally, the Four of Wands in the future placement, a message of uniting energies together for constructive efforts and perhaps even a celebration.
My Hope is that keeping connections as peacefully alive as I can now will create more potential union in the future.
In the meantime, it helps remind me that we are all still humans with more in common than we are told. This aspect keeps my nervous system fears a bit more regulated.
Some in power want us to presume we are enemies. My rebellion is to not give them my faith in that story.
