What’s in Your Stars?

It’s my birthday week!

I have enjoyed astrology since I was a kid, and I want to gift you three awesome resources who help me be attentive to the bigger picture as I flow through my days. (No paid promotions here, just sharing my joy.) Scroll to the bold for these if you want to skip my humorous tale.

When I was a pre-teen, I loved Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs and other Astro guides.

As I would read the description of Cancer, I would get bummed. It was all about being a sensitive homebody who would sentimentalize just about anything.

Sure this was all true. And yes, I would get insanely giddy for a solid trip to the stationary store or the arrival of my Premiere Magazine. But it sure didn’t sound cool.

Of course, Leo came next in the line up. These folks were the life of the party. They were feisty and fun and vibrant.

I felt jealous and sad to be relegated to my milquetoast crab character.

As an adult, I went to some actual astrologers.

Each time, the first thing they said to me was, “Yeah, you’re basically more of a Leo than anything.”

Huzzah! My pre-teen desires have been fulfilled by expanding into the bigger picture of my full chart!

That said, through my work as a tarot reader and intuition coach, I have come to embrace and love my sensitive Cancerian side. This is the part of me that is compassionate and empathic.

The Leo parts help me to be brazen enough to speak with confidence and send out marketing emails like this.

My Aquarius rising helps me integrate the spread of card archetypes into new meanings.

My Gemini planets help keep it real with logic.

It’s super helpful to know all the flavors of your own astrological spectrum.

For classic horoscopes, I love the humor and open-hearted horoscopes of fellow Cancerian, Rob Brezsny.

As an intuition coach, I have been fascinated by the spot on overviews of Molly McCord’s podcast, Intuitive Astrology with Molly McCord, available on most podcast apps.

The reason I like astrology is because it widens out my view of what is happening that might be affecting my personal realm. But I still do prefer a tarot reading to get directly personal insights.
